Murder. Attempted Murder. Threats. Revenge.There's a lot to say about this book. It's quite unique and other than what I write about in my spoiler alert below, it's a rather good read.
Lisa receives photos of her husband with another woman and has divorce papers served to him even though she's in an affair of her own. A few days later very shortly after getting her car back from the mechanic, while driving through Hollywood Hills, the brakes, including the e-brake let go, causing Lisa to crash. She's now in the hospital and seems to have forgotten that her marriage is in a bad place or that she's in a relationship with Jeff who works for her. She seems to have short-term memory loss of the last year of her life.
Roger visits her during the day while at night, dashes off to his lover, Kelly.
Being a physician the author, Bayla Highland, includes hospital scenes and abbreviations (PYXIX, KCL, PCA), making these parts of the story work.
Not working in the nursing field herself, how would Kelly know about KCL and its effects?
There is a lot of scheming and counter-scheming. Plenty of revenge, plotting, and deals made. Lisa plays along with it, with her own counter-revenge.
***SPOILER ALERT BELOW***
Mafia ties? Come on. Being only hinted at early on, Tony, Lisa's father was born into the "family" but got out of it alive. Now using these "ties," and having convinced his brother Nicoló to help him locate Lisa, Nicoló happens to know just the right computer hacker to get the job done in 5 minutes! Considering this and other happenings in the book, don't you wish everyday life turned out where everything lined up so nicely (helicopter, satellite phone, and satellite surveillance at the ready) and we knew just the right person for the job and that they were available at the drop of a hat? Bosh! May we never be so insulted!
While 4 stars may be a bit much, it certainly rated above a 3.

Was this book even reviewed by an editor? Grammatical errors; adjectives that are not related to the subject; and overall poor writing makes me wonder how this book ever made it to 's list of offered books. The plot is lost in the inconsistencies of poor writing and editing. I don't think this book would even make the Lifetime Movie Network of offerings of poorly plotted movies. Don't waste your time.
What I liked You don't really like any of the main characters. They are both pretty awful people. So it's hard to know who to root for. That's different, and entertaining.
What I didn't like It was very predictable. Not much of a pshycological thriller.Some of it was interesting, but not thrilling.
As a fan of thrillers I can definitely say this book was action packed, fast paced and suspenseful throughout. The characters were well developed and I found myself rooting for Lisa all the way.
this book was ok for a quick read was rather disappointed with the ending.
would recommend for people who are in bit books and want something to fill in time.
